A Fire Warden is an extra safeguard in case of an emergency is ideal for large or complicated workplaces. It creates and environment where employees can be assured that someone on staff is prepared and ready to take charge in case of a fire emergency.

What does this course teach?

This course enables the student to show a basic understanding of fire safety, learning and understanding the specific duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden including knowing how these duties apply to the specific worksite. Demonstrate how to follow the worksite’s specific evacuation plan and perform a mock evacuation if practical, as well as exhibit how to help someone who needs assistance with evacuation. The Fire Warden course allows people to demonstrate knowledge of evacuation requirements for their workplace and understand the duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden. The NZQA course is 18408. This is a Level 3 course worth 3 credits.

Fire Warden Training using VR (virtual reality)
